With 40 years of real estate experience and over $1 Billion in transactions, Doug Launius is a proven and trusted industry veteran. His areas of expertise cover real estate investments, land acquisition, entitlement and development. Today, Doug serves as a managing principal, co-owner and broker at Marketplace Real Estate Group, where he’s part of a team known as the “go-to guys of Southeast Austin.”

Doug has acquired a significant portfolio of properties as a principal, brokered hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate deals, raised equity from both private and institutional investors and invested in numerous real estate projects, oil and gas ventures as well as startup and publicly traded companies. One notable transaction was the roll up and sale to Goldman Sachs of 25 apartment properties totaling approximately 5,500 units owned by 22 separate owners in one neighborhood. It was deemed the largest deal of its kind ever completed in the United States and won numerous awards including Deal of the Year in Houston.

Today, as a guiding force behind Marketplace Real Estate Group, Doug remains a long-time, avid proponent for sensible growth and development in Austin’s Southeast submarket. The firm owns a significant portfolio of properties and continues to acquire and invest in additional real estate in Southeast Austin.
